Host Leah Miller announced live that NICO, a 24-year-old Contemporary and Hip-Hop dancer from Montréal received the majority of the more than three million votes cast during the countrywide poll on Wednesday night and would claim the title of Canada’s Favourite Dancer and the grand prize of $100,000 and a 2009 C230 Mercedes-Benz.
Top 4 Finalist ALLIE Bertram, a 19-year-old Ballet dancer from Calgary was declared the runner up. NICO and ALLIE along with fellow Top 4 Finalists MILES Faber, a 21-year-old Popper and Boogaloo dancer from Calgary, NATALLI Reznik a 29-year-old Hip-Hop and Latin dancer from Toronto and the remaining dancers from the Top 20, all took to the stage during the two-hour broadcast.
NICO has been captivating Canadians since his audition in Montreal. Since that time, NICO has dominated the stage performing everything from capoeira to quick step. Best known for his emotionally charged performances and stylish mohawk, NICO has been praised by the judges for being a true inspiration to male dancers everywhere.
