A hilarious gay coming of age feature film set in a small industrial town.
**An Official Winner at The 2002 Columbus International Film & Video Festival**

Based on the hit play, written by and starring Second City alumni and off-Broadway star Jonathan Wilson, the film flashes between an adult Jonathan, on stage in his one-man show and Jonathan as a high school student, who, not unlike many teenagers, feels like a misfit. But when he meets a brand new student, the flamboyantly gay Gordon, whose friendship helps Jonathan come to grips with his own sexuality, Jonathan learns to embrace life and feel good about himself.

Poignant, hysterically funny and life affirming, “My Own Private Oshawa is a brilliant “every person's” journey through the teenage angst-ridden adventure about finding oneself.

Jonathan Wilson's credits also include Timon, in The Lion King , Showtime's In Through The Out Door and writer/performer of many successful stage plays mounted both in Toronto and off-Broadway.
